Using the EnergyGuide labels can reduce the amount of energy consumption by insuring that the appliance you purchase is the correctly sized model for your needs and consumes the least amount of energy. If an EnergyGuide label is not included, make sure that the appliance has the most energy efficient features such as moisture sensor controls and cool-down cycles in clothes washers, or insulated construction in ranges.
